Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
